Character in every line

I’m Estelle Hubert, a native French voice over artist
and actress. From animation to e-learning scenarios, I play your characters, from the most natural to the most wonderfully eccentric.

Cantankerous, coaxing or completely offbeat

Before I find a voice, I look for a person: what they want and who they’re talking to. A rather cantankerous sales director or an almost overly soothing HR manager can be played naturally. A doting granny or a witch calls for a transformed voice. Listen, then save your favourites for your project.

Where your characters speak

Animation
In animation, anything can talk. Even an endive.
Video games
Your heroine, from her first line to the final boss.
Commercials
A character established in seconds, sometimes singing, often funny.
Escape rooms
The voice that welcomes the players, then turns up the pressure.
Audio drama and podcasts
Without pictures, the performance carries everything: age, mood and silence.
E-learning scenarios
Your learner responds and the character reacts. It all needs to feel real. Listen to my e-learning characters.

Every performance starts with listening

Animation studios, recording studios, communications agencies and game publishers: for a game, cartoon or commercial full of offbeat voices, let’s talk about your characters. I’ve been asked to voice a table, a chair, a magpie and even a fly whose entire script was “Zzz”.

  • Your vision, my interpretation

When your direction is precise, I follow it. When your character is still taking shape, I let you hear different approaches: gentler, more eccentric or more unsettling. We choose the voice that fits together.

  • Here before, during and after the session

A question about the script, feedback from the director or something to resolve after delivery: I stay available to keep your project moving.

  • The same voice, project after project

From one episode to the next, your character keeps their voice. I return to their tone, rhythm and quirks, so your audience recognises them from the first word.

A great session,
wherever you are

  1. Before the session

Send me your script, character descriptions and an animatic if you have one. We specify the work, usage rights and schedule in a quote. Once it’s approved, we arrange the recording.

  2. During the session

You recognise a character from their first line. Their tone, rhythm, laugh or scream: we refine the performance until it belongs to them alone.

    Your place in the session

    Leave the recording to me

I record to your direction. No clear idea yet? I’ll suggest several voices for the same character, from the gentlest to the wildest. You receive the takes to listen to and send me your feedback.

    Direct the session remotely

Join the recording remotely. Together, we adjust the pace, nuances and performance, take by take.

For audio: Source-Connect, SessionLink Pro or Cleanfeed. For conversation: Google Meet, Zoom or Teams.

  3. Throughout your project

    Either way

    Through to the final line

    • Several roles, one actor

The hero, their sidekick and the villain: I change voice from one character to the next, each with a personality of their own. The quote specifies the number of roles.

    • From a whisper to a scream

A burst of laughter, a scream of terror or a voice pushed to the edge: each effect is controlled so the words stay clear and the character stays believable.

    • When the character sings

A song in the script? I sing too. The commercial melodies compilation in the demos gives you a taste. Singing is included in the agreed quote.

    • Ready when you are

A quick response, then a recording that fits your schedule, even when it’s urgent.

The sound is ready.

Remotely directed sessions

In my soundproofed, isolated booth, I can whisper, shout or sing without losing the detail. The Neumann U87 captures every character voice, from doting granny to witch.

For a character, a directed session often makes the difference. Connect to my booth through SessionLink Pro or Source-Connect, hear each take live in broadcast quality, and we create the voice together. That’s how Duodaki agency and I found the voice of the little car for Régie Service 13.

Before the take

How much does voice over for animation cost?

Every project is quoted individually. The number of characters, volume of dialogue and intended use (media, territory and term) determine the rate. Send me your script and character descriptions, and I’ll reply personally with a clear quote.

Can you play several characters in the same project?

Yes. In Morphle, I played Mila, Morphle and a whole cast of supporting roles. For Perle du Nord, I voiced several varieties of endive, from young shoots to Barbucine.

Do you perform child and teenage voices?

Yes, from a curious little girl to a teenager. Listen to Mila in Morphle or Zoé in Petit Cœur de Beurre. For a natural child voice, my daughter Florine also records. Listen to her child voice demos.

Do you perform witch or grandmother voices?

Yes: from an almost maternal witch to one who gives you chills, and from a doting granny to an explosive mother-in-law. Listen to the Witches and Older characters medleys in the demos.

What files will I receive?

Depending on your needs, you’ll receive raw takes for postproduction or cleaned, split and named files as specified in the quote. Files are supplied in WAV or AIFF, at the format and level agreed for your production. An MP3 version can also be provided.
