Stephanie Matard: American voice over artist, trusted ally and vocal soul sister

In 2019, I was looking for a voice over partner — a native American accent for an e-learning project.

But this time, the voice on the other end of the line made me stop.

A clear tone, mad energy, a kind of “Mini-Me”.

And that smile carried in the vowels — unmistakably American.

On the line was Stephanie Matard, American voice over artist.
Born in Ohio, trained in theatre in San Diego, she performed in Italy before settling in France, where she now works full-time as a voice over artist. A true citizen of the world… with a mic and a flair.

Since that day, our paths have kept crossing, weaving, strengthening.

Professionally first — teaming up, reflecting together on our craft.

And far beyond that.

Because Stephanie isn’t just an American voice over based in France.
She’s a committed artist, a grounded entrepreneur, a radiant woman with whom I share a vision of this profession… and the occasional glass of champagne.

We inspire each other. We get each other. We trust each other. We care.

And when we meet in real life, it sparkles.

An American female voiceover, and much more besides

An interpretation that captures, an intention that stays

There are voices that do the job.
And then there are those that grab you. The ones that catch an emotion, a smile, a “there’s something there”.
Stephanie’s voice is one of them. She brings that extra something to every project.
Her US accent is authentic, with no clichés.

A deep, elegant and sensual voice for the Longines campaign: a restrained breath, a suggested luxury, all in restraint.
A calm, assertive and determined voice for Decathlon: a tone that engages, motivates, sets a framework and sets the pace.

Want to hear more: commercials, corporate films, motion design… discover her voice demos.

Stephanie is an American voice over artist talking to her audience.
Not to a microphone. Not to a page. To someone.
And this accuracy can be found in all her deliveries. Advertising, narration, e-learning, corporate, motion design: she adapts, she doses, she aims right. Yes, I’m a FAN!

A professional studio… and a seamless collaboration

Behind this voice, built for international projects, there’s a studio designed for the most demanding standards.

Her Studiobricks booth is her daily cocoon, fully soundproofed and equipped like a pro.
Top-tier preamp, Neumann U87 mic (a classic for a reason), perfectly treated acoustics, Source Connect ready: everything’s set to record and deliver broadcast-quality sound.

Every day, Stephanie records for clients across the US, Canada, France and Europe.
And she’s perfectly at ease on both sides of the Atlantic : fully bilingual, Franco-American, passport in hand.

Her studio is like her voice: precise, fluid, professional, colorful, ALIVE.
And the process? Smooth, fast, human. You send a brief, she gets your intentions.
Need a tweak? She’ll send back a sharp, clear version.
Hesitating on the tone? She tests two reads, just to make sure.

With Stephanie, there’s no middleman, no translator, no extra steps.
You’re working directly with an English voice over actress who knows how to read between the lines.

And that changes everything.

A trained actress, Stéphanie is also a regular studio guest in Paris, both to lend her voice behind the microphone and to play a role in front of the camera.

Our business vision: serving the customer

In our business, being a good actress isn’t enough.
Yes, the voice counts. But what really makes the difference is everything you build around it.

Understand a brief, listen to a need, anticipate, deliver on time.
And above all: create a climate of trust, from the very first exchange.

Stephanie and I share exactly the same vision.
To sell is to serve. Offering a clear, human and fluid solution.

We don’t just play well: we organize.
We structure, we think customer, we deliver fast, well and in the right format.
And for that, we rely on solid tools: a coherent website, targeted demos, a broadcast-ready studio, crystal-clear communication, and regular questioning thanks to ongoing training.

Our branding is aligned.
Our positioning, fully owned.
And our professional energy? Decidedly action-oriented.

What I love about her is what I stand for every day: simple, professional and impactful.
Straightforward. No blur. Just what’s needed, where it’s needed.
With talent, with heart. And always with a deep desire to be useful.

Voice transmission… mother and daughter

When passion runs in families, it takes on a whole new meaning.

Stéphanie is Sophia’s mom, a young voice over artist with a talent that’s already shining bright.
It’s not just a weekend hobby: Sophia is now nominated in the “Child Voice of the Year” category at the Dallas 2025 One Voice Awards. And that’s not all.

And of course, it speaks to me.
Because I also share this desire to pass on, with my daughter Florine, whom I accompany in her first steps as a child and teenage voice over artist.

That’s another thing Stéphanie and I have in common: we like to pass things on. With joy, and with care.

Stephanie & me: a sparkling voice over friendship

Glitter is not optional.
With us, it’s practically a way of life.

Because beyond the mics and deadlines, there’s friendship.
The real kind. Genuine. Strong. Joyful.

“From London to Paris, with unicorns, make-up sessions and champagne in Le Touquet… A sparkling professional friendship that lasts.”

Our moments, our laughs, our obvious connection

📍London 2022 – One Voice Conference
First hug, first post-conference apéro, first giggles over our accents.
We’d seen each other online, but that was it… until this real-life spark.
The start of a bright, professional “us”.

📍Le Touquet – November 2022
We’d planned a party.
We ended up with massages, plaid blankets, champagne, seaside walks, cheese boards… and hours spent remaking the world (and our websites).

📍London 2023 – One Voice Awards
Our fab four voice over gang was complete: Stephanie, Valérie Marinelli, Gaëlle Bétend and me.
A girl gang of voices, sure. But most of all: voice over colleagues happy to spend time together, even as competitors.

Mosaic of memories between voice-over actors - complicity, projects and friendship

📍Manchester – January 2025
A breath of fresh air and inspiration in the city of English voiceover actor Michael Ashtiany, Stephanie’s partner in life, heart and business.
The Great Big voice over Social is more than a voiceover event: it’s a tribe. Laughter, pitches, ideas, real connections.
We talked voice, branding, food and English weather. And above all, we celebrated the launch of Stéphanie’s new website.

📍Nice – June 2025
Nice, June 2025: sweetness, laughter… and non-stop chatter.
That weekend, it was Valérie Marinelli who orchestrated everything.
She brought us together in a little corner of paradise, and literally pampered us.
Three days suspended between massages, karaoke, healthy breakfasts, seaside restaurants, chats at the pool, an introduction to golf (yes, yes) and discovering the sweetest corners of the region.
Not forgetting, of course, our passionate discussions about the profession, the mind, projects… and life.
A bubble of well-being, laughter and sharing. Body, voice, heart. It was all there.
And between the four of us, “The Fantastic Four” – Valérie, Gaëlle, Stephanie and me – there was a solid, joyful, caring energy and friendship. The kind of sisterhood that really makes you feel good.

📍Paris – September 2025 – The Voiceover Social is coming!
An event that’s just like us: warm, open, joyful.
Organized with heart by Stephanie, with her usual energy, Michael And Helen Bee in the loop, to federate the pros with humor and generosity.
An appointment not to be missed… and to be reinvented again.

True voice over sisters

We speak the same language.
The language of voice, of course. Of service, of listening, of commitment.
But also of respect, of joy, of silly fun, of bold femininity, of what we call “girl secret power”.

We share doubts, challenges, the questions that come with being driven businesswomen.
The stress of raising kids.
And together, we celebrate every win — big or small.

And then… there’s the rest.
The champagne for real.
The glitter, proudly worn. Glitter is not optional.
The quiet tears, the unstoppable giggles, the silences that say it all.
That kind of friendship, precious and nourishing, that simply makes you stronger.

So no, this isn’t just a portrait of a talented American voice over artist.
It’s the portrait of a soul sister.
Of a partner at heart.
Of a woman I admire, and with whom I can’t wait to keep creating for a long, long time.

You got it.
Stephanie Matard: I love you. Really.
