Stephanie Matard is an American voice actor. Born in Ohio and trained in theatre in San Diego, she performed in Italy before settling in France, where she records for clients in the United States, Canada, France and across Europe.
In 2019, I was looking for an American English voice for an e-learning project. At the other end of the phone: a clear timbre, incredible energy, a “Minnie me” and that smile in the vowels that sounds so unmistakably American. Since then, our paths have kept crossing, weaving together and growing stronger.

Stephanie is a committed artist, an accomplished entrepreneur and a radiant woman with whom I share a view of our profession and a sincere friendship. We inspire, understand and trust each other. We love each other. And when we meet IRL, it sparkles.
A voice speaking to someone
Some voices do the job; others draw you in, catch an emotion or a smile and make you think, “There’s something here.” Stephanie’s is one of those. She brings that extra quality you feel in a project. Her American accent is authentic, without a trace of cliché.
Stephanie speaks to her audience, to someone, and that sense of connection comes through in every delivery. Commercials, narration, e-learning, corporate films and motion graphics: she adapts, balances and finds the right tone. Yes, I am a fan!
A professional studio and a smooth collaboration
Behind this internationally focused voice is a studio built for demanding work. Her soundproofed, professionally equipped Studiobricks booth is her everyday workspace: a Neumann U87 microphone, controlled acoustics and Source-Connect, ready to record and deliver to broadcast standards. She is truly bilingual: French-American, passport and all. Her studio reflects her personality: precise, professional, colourful and full of life.
The process is straightforward, quick and human. You send a brief; she understands the intention. You request an adjustment; she returns a clear proposal. Unsure of the tone? She tries two options. With Stephanie, there is no need for duplication, an interpreter or endless approvals. You are speaking to an American English voice actor who can also read between the lines. That changes everything.
A trained actor, Stephanie also regularly works in Paris studios, both behind the microphone and in front of the camera.

In our profession, being a good voice actor is not enough. The voice matters, of course, but the difference also lies in everything around it: understanding a brief, listening to a need, anticipating, delivering accurately and creating trust from the first conversation.
Stephanie and I share that view. Selling means serving: offering a clear, human and straightforward solution. We organise as well as perform. We structure our work, think about the client and deliver promptly in the right format. We use solid tools: a coherent website, focused demos, a broadcast-ready studio, clear communication and regular reflection through continuing training.
Our branding is aligned with who we are, our positioning is clear and our professional energy goes into action. What I love in her is what I strive for every day: work that is simple, professional and effective, without detours or ambiguity. The right thing in the right place, with talent, heart and a deep desire to be useful.
Passing on a passion, mother to daughter
A passion shared within a family takes on another dimension. Stephanie is Sophia’s mother, and Sophia is already a talented young voice actor. This is much more than a weekend hobby: in 2025, Sophia was nominated for Child Voiceover Artist of the Year at the One Voice Awards in Dallas. Quite something.
That naturally speaks to me. I share that wish to pass something on with my daughter Florine, whom I support as she takes her first steps in child and teen voice acting. Another thing Stephanie and I have in common: we love passing on what we know.
A friendship with plenty of sparkle

For us, it is almost a way of life. Beyond microphones and deadlines, there is a real, warm and close friendship. From London to Paris, through unicorns, make-up sessions and champagne in Le Touquet, it is a sparkling professional friendship that lasts.

Voice over sisters, for real
We speak the same language: voice, service, listening and commitment, but also respect, joy, a little joyful madness, confident femininity and “girl secret power”. We share the doubts, challenges and questions of demanding business owners, the stresses of raising children, and we celebrate our small and big victories together.
Then there is everything else: champagne on the beach, unapologetic glitter, quiet tears, loud laughter and silences that say so much. A precious friendship that nourishes us, makes us better and makes us stronger.
A sister on the journey
This portrait is about a talented American voice actor and a sister on the journey, a dear partner and a woman I admire. I want us to keep creating together for a long time.
