When I started lending my voice over 20 years ago, I never imagined that I would one day spend so much time playing benevolent grandmothers or eccentric mothers-in-law! And yet, over the years, these roles have become a speciality of mine.
Every elderly character I play has his or her own character, nuances and, let’s be honest, a little craziness. It’s this diversity that drives me to keep pushing myself, to find the perfect tone to bring these characters to life in your projects.
A Grandmother’s Voice For Every Scenario
The Comforting Grandmother
Ah, the sweet grandmother! The one who greets you with a smile and cookies (even if only in your imagination). My voice becomes warm, reassuring, almost enveloping. It evokes those Sunday afternoons when everything seemed simpler, when every word sounded like a promise of comfort.
Whether for commercials, narrations or children’s stories, this character remains a timeless classic. With a hint of tenderness and a pinch of nostalgia, my voice brings a human and emotional touch to every project.

But not all grandmothers knit quietly by the fire! Some break the rules and have just as much fun as their grandchildren. A zany granny is a voice full of life, mischief and sometimes offbeat humor.
These roles, often found in animation or comedy projects, allow me to let go and have as much fun as the audience. And if I had to choose, it’s often these slightly mad characters who make the biggest impression on me.

The hysterical mother-in-law
Ah, the mother-in-law! An iconic character, sometimes explosive, often hilarious. The hysterical mother-in-law is a vocal rollercoaster: boundless energy, vocal outbursts and intonations that oscillate between comedy and exasperation.
For these roles, I draw on all my energy, because you have to know how to juggle the dramatic and the comic. Through her, I explore the limits of exasperation (and sometimes of my own patience!). One thing’s for sure: there’s never a dull moment with a hysterical mother-in-law.
The bossy mother-in-law
Then there’s the mother-in-law who commands respect, with a voice that’s firm, sharp and slightly intimidating. This character is perfect for stories or commercials where authority is essential, but always with a touch of character that makes her unforgettable.

How does one go from cuddly grandmother to explosive mother-in-law? The answer: years of work, practice and, let’s face it, a touch of madness. Each role is a new adventure that pushes me to refine my technique and explore new emotions.
