Bringing a 13th-century inn’s story to life

Some projects have that special spark. From the very first brief, I knew this one would be different. In 2023, I had the pleasure of voicing a truly original TV campaign for Hotels.com, aired both in France and internationally.

The idea? Simple, yet brilliant. I became the voice of a 13th-century inn. A charming, slightly old-fashioned character, but still very much alive and kicking.

The script was short and playful: “I’m a 13th-century inn. I might look a little old-school, but I’ve lost none of my youthful spirit…”

The challenge? Finding the perfect balance. A tone that’s narrative, malicious, and naturally complicit. A french female voice over that sounds authentic, relatable, and full of life — without falling into caricature.

This is the kind of work I love: breathing life into a brand’s message, capturing the right emotion, and creating an instant connection with the audience, all within a few seconds.

Recording a global campaign with precision and energy

Beyond the storytelling, this project was also an exciting technical challenge. The session was directed live, connecting teams across three locations:

  • The Hotels.com team in France,
  • The marketing team in the United States,
  • And my partner agency InterEcho, known for their expertise in global productions.

We worked via Source Connect from my broadcast-quality home studio in France, ensuring seamless communication and pristine sound. Supported by my personal sound engineer, every detail was fine-tuned live: tone, pace, intention.

When direction is clear, when sound is precise, when collaboration flows naturally — that’s when a voice finds its perfect place in a campaign.

French female voice over for a global TV campaign

Voicing an international project demands more than technical accuracy. It’s about striking the right emotional chord across cultures and markets.

For Hotels.com, the goal was to offer a voice that feels both charmingly French and universally engaging. A character full of warmth and wit, capable of speaking to audiences from Paris to New York without losing her unique flavor.

Finding that delicate tone — narrative but not heavy, lively but not overacted — is the kind of precision work I truly enjoy.

One Voice Awards 2024: Best International Voice Over Performance

When I recorded this project, I didn’t expect it would lead me all the way to London. Yet in 2024, I was honored to receive the Best International Voice Over Performance award at the prestigious One Voice Awards.

More than a personal achievement, this recognition celebrates the power of collaboration: the creative vision of InterEcho, the trust of the Hotels.com teams, the technical precision of my engineer, and the joy of crafting a voice that serves the story first.

For me, this project is a milestone — not just for the award, but because it captures what I love most about my craft: working with nuance, humanity, and a true passion for storytelling.
